Indian agriculture registered a tremendous growth of 4.2 % during the period 2004 – 08. India has become the world’s largest producer across a range of agricultural commodities with a land mark in food grain production of 230 Million Metric tonnes in 2008 - 09. The gross cultivable area of 190 million ha is one of the largest in the world.
Increasing Population with growth in income driving the demand for food and hence the necessity to improve agricultural productivity as more land can not be brought under plough.
The Crop Protection Products help farmers to prevent crop losses from the effects of weeds, pests & diseases and produce more food, fiber, feed and renewable bio – energy sustainably thereby improving the agricultural productivity.
India’s crop protection market which currently stood at 1200 m US$ have registered an impressive annual growth of 12 % during 2004 – 08.
“Cheminova” being a global company in the crop protection industry, uses its core competences to identify, develop, register, manufacture and market products offering farmers “Quality Products” with “Value for Money” . It would be our constant endeavour for increasing quality yields to improving income and raising the standard of livings in the countries we operate and create “Value” for all stakeholders demonstrating our values and acting in accordance with the principle laid down in the Code of Business Principles.
Cheminova India Limited (CIL) is an integral part and wholly own subsidiary of Cheminova A/S, Denmark . CIL have been contributing significantly in the growth through market access, production & sourcing from India to cater global market requirements and technology development work for newer improved products introduction since its inception in 1997. The state- of- the- art & ISO Certified production facilities of CIL at Panoli (380 Km north of Mumbai), Gujarat at 3 independent sites with highest environmental standards and chemical waste incineration facilities have been designed & built by Cheminova’s own engineers and is a jewel in the crown. These production facilities with improved efficiencies and safety are to supplement the facilities in Denmark and to meet future global requirements of Cheminova. The R & D Centre and Pilot plant facilities at CIL in India are fully integrated with the main centre at Denmark and closely working together and one of the key competitiveness of Cheminova for in house development of processes, environment friendly production technologies, synthesis, newer high quality formulations and scaling up.
CIL is also a dominant player in Indian domestic crop protection markets and in line with the global growth strategy implementing various new initiatives in sales and marketing, manufacturing, supply chain and technical & development areas and redefining the Business Plan for accelerating the pace of the growth and winning market share through “Value differentiation” in coming years and rolling out the redefined Mission, Vision and Values across the India Organization.
CIL is also member of Crop Life India (CLI) and Crop Care Federation of India and participating in Industry programmes conducted by these associations.
CIL as part of the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) promoting the Safe Use Pesticides (SUP) Programmes, Safety, Health and Environment Policies and Product Stewardship. The details CSR report is in the Website.
Education of the distributors, dealers, retailers, and farmers in the correct use of our products and ensuring safety and health during production & transport is an essential and integral part of our business.
