THUS SPAKE HIS EXCELLENCY |
- CSR is very important for any organisation. I appreciate that Cheminova has dropped some products on grounds of safety, despite high contribution from them. This is an example of social concern
- These are not just saplings, they are the future of our planet. Take care of them. I shall visit you next time to see how you care for them
- This is a small contribution of every one of us for the future of this planet
- Trees for Tomorrow is a great idea showing the concern for the environment and also for the future
- We may leave this world, but these trees will remain and bear fruits for our next generation.
- It is not just showcasing for today or Tomorrow, we must care for them for ever
- Youngsters can create a big difference, they are the future of India
- India is growing rapidly. In advanced countries a generation means 25 years. In India the generation gap is every 5 years, because there is rapid change happening. Perhaps we, the developed countries, can learn from India

World Wetlands Day is celebrated on the 2nd of February every year to commemorate the signing of the UN Convention on Wetlands by 150 countries in 1971. As India and Denmark were the signatories to this convention it is all the more appropriate to us to create awareness among our customers and channel partners. Therefore, it was decided to commence our TREES FOR TOMORROW campaign for the year 2011 starting from the day of WWD. This got a further boost by another International campaign, INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF FORESTRY.
Cheminova India’s ambitious plan to celebrate the WWD across the country was supported by its dealers, distributors, Scientists, Forestry department officials and University of Mumbai.
The visit of His Excellency was the appropriate occasion for Cheminova to flag-off the ceremony by the golden hands of Mr. Ambassador. The representatives of the Garware Institute of Management, University of Mumbai were invited to receive the first few saplings from the Ambassador, as a symbolic launch of the WWD.
Earlier, on his arrival, His Excellency was received in the traditional Indian style, with Topy [head gear] and shawl around his shoulders and by placing the sacred vermilion on his forehead.
On inauguration, Mr. Ambassador spoke briefly on the importance of trees, the pace of progress in India, youth as future of India, etc. |
